Setting Up POS Terminal Users

Introduction

Overview

Every service point that will operate a point of service (POS) terminal must have POS terminal credentials set up for them. The POS terminal user will use these credentials to log in to the POS terminal assigned to them.

POS terminal users are set up per service point and not per POS terminal. For example, a service point with ten POS terminals assigned to them will use the same user credentials to log in to all ten POS terminals.

Who is responsible for setting up POS terminal users?

IT is responsible for assigning POS terminal users. Check with your Country Office to confirm who in IT is responsible in your country.

The SCOPE Service Desk is responsible for creating POS terminal user credentials.

Why is setting up POS terminal users important?

Setting up POS terminal users allows service points to log in to and operate POS terminals, and is therefore essential for the distribution of entitlements to beneficiaries.

What do I need to do before setting up POS terminal users?

Ensure the following have been completed before setting up POS terminal users:

• POS terminals have been registered on SCOPE
• Service points or cooperating partners have been created on SCOPE
• POS terminals have been assigned to service points or cooperating partners on SCOPE
• Service points or cooperating partners have been assigned to an intervention on SCOPE
