Creating a Distribution Cycle

Introduction

Overview

Creating a distribution cycle is how you schedule the distribution for a specific intervention in SCOPE. This involves defining details on the start and end dates of that cycle and the cash value that will be transferred to enrolled/activated households and individuals during that period. For SCOPECARD interventions, creating a distribution cycle also allows you to specify whether or not your cycle will use distribution phasing, which is an important functionality enabling you to conduct distribution in a series of smaller phases in order to prevent crowding at distribution points. Currently, you will only be able to set phasing criteria based on the last digit that appears on a beneficiary's SCOPECARD or SCOPECARD Light tokens.

You can edit a distribution cycle after it has been created.

Who is responsible for creating a distribution cycle?

Programme is normally responsible for creating a distribution cycle. Check with your Country Office to confirm who in Programme is responsible in your country.

Why is creating a distribution cycle important?

When you create a distribution cycle you formally schedule the actual distribution with the framework and resources that have been established under a project and an intervention in SCOPE. It is important that these details accurately reflect planning for the specific assistance.

What do I need to do before creating a distribution cycle?

Before creating a distribution cycle, you must ensure beneficiaries are enrolled in that specific intervention. For SCOPECARD interventions, you should determine whether your Country Office requires distribution phasing before creating a distribution cycle.
