Basket Information Fields

This section details each of the fields that are available when Setting Up a Food Basket in the Create new food basket page. It details what you can enter for each field, and provides examples of the data you enter when creating a food basket.

  1. Name (Mandatory): Enter a name to identify your food basket.
  2. Description: Enter a description.
  3. POS Commodity (Mandatory): Choose a commodity from the POS commodities that are added to SCOPE.
  4. Quantity (Mandatory): Enter the quantity of the commodity you want to distribute. This uses the unit you have set for the POS commodity.
  5. Price per item (USD) (Mandatory): Enter the price in USD for a single unit of the selected commodity.

Click add another (6), if you need to add more commodities to the food basket.

Phase 1

In this example, we show what values you put in each field to create a create a food basket to be used in the early stages of an emergency intervention following an earthquake.

Basic Information

Field Value Notes
Name Phase 1: Basic water, food, and ORS The food basket is named so that it is easily identifiable when creating distribution lists.
Description A food basket designed to provide basic disaster relief for beneficiaries in phase 1 of the intervention (cycles 1-3). It includes water, basic food, and ORS for the treatment of diarrhoea. The description includes some details about what the purpose of the food basket is and which cycles it's intended for. It also gives an overview of what is being provided to beneficiaries.
