POS Unit For Commodity Fields

This section details each of the fields that are available when Setting Up POS Commodities in the Commodity page. It details what you can enter for each field, and provides examples of the data you enter when creating a POS commodity.

  1. Commodity (Mandatory): Choose the appropriate global commodity from the drop down list. The list includes all global commodities that are registered on SCOPE.
  2. POS Description (Mandatory): Enter the description that you want to appear on the POS.
  3. PV Description: Enter the description that you want to appear on any paper vouchers.
  4. POS Unit (Mandatory): Enter the unit of measurement that will be displayed on the POS machine.
  5. Code (Mandatory): <add explanation>
  6. Conversion factor (Mandatory): <add explanation>
  7. Detailed description: A more detailed description of the commodity.

Examples

Using a different unit and language

In this example, we prepare the Chlorine Tabs global commodity for use on POS terminals. In this example, French is the local language used by service points and beneficiaries. In addition, the chlorine tablets are distributed as a 100 g bottles rather than by kg.
