Registration
Registration is the process of collecting people's identity data and registering households and household members in SCOPE. It is an ongoing task that needs to be done any time you need to add new individuals' identities to your caseload. You do not need projects or interventions set up in SCOPE to register people's identities. This allows Country Offices to start registering people's identities before they start using SCOPE to manage interventions and distributions.
Note: Collection, storage, use and sharing of people's identity data must be carried out in accordance with WFPWorld Food Programme's rules and regulations, including the WFP Guide to Personal Data Protection and Privacy.
There are three ways to register households and individuals:
-
You can use online registration when you have internet access to SCOPE. All households and household members are registered directly to the SCOPE database.
-
Registering households offline
You can use offline registration when you do not have internet access to SCOPE. This is most common in the field where there may not be internet access available. However, it can also be used at an office if the internet is down, or in places where firewalls or filters block internet access to SCOPE. After you have completed offline registration, the registration data needs to be imported to SCOPE by the SCOPE Service Desk.

Importing data from external data sources
You can import data from external data sources when you need to import data from a cooperating partner, UNUnited Nations agency, or government that has collected the identity data of individuals and households using their own systems. You must set up the external data source in SCOPE before you can import data from them.
